Regarding Helsinkifrostbites
Helsinkifrostbites is a multi-disciplinary creative agency. We offer visual communication solutions to clients of all shapes and sizes, ranging from small flyers and brochures to websites to full corporate identities.
Helsinkifrostbites consists of Harri and Py Paavolainen. We have been cooperating on a wide variety of creative projects ever since we met in 1997 at the London College of Printing (now London College of Communication ) while doing a BA (Hons) in Graphic & Media Design.
As our approaches to design are quite different, we took different pathways on the course. Both of us were thoroughly schooled in typographical design with an emphasis in the clear and hierarchical presentation of complex information. Py specialized further in Identity and Exhibition Design while Harri immersed himself in Typography and Web/Interactive design and was awarded a membership of the International Society of Typographic Designers for his sleepless nights.
Together our skills complement each other in a way that has proved rather fertile, and kept us busy. Our experimental work in various creative fields was grouped under the working title “Helsinkifrostbites”.
In 2000 we moved to Helsinki, Finland where Harri worked as an Art Director in a corporate environment for 5 years while Py freelanced. We have always wanted to work together full-time and we got the opportunity when we packed up and moved to Österlen, at the southern tip of Sweden, to start a Creative Agency.
